David Valger – Founder & President

Mr. Valger founded DVO Real Estate and is responsible for the overall management, operations and investing activities of the firm. A seasoned industry veteran, Mr. Valger has extensive experience in all aspects of real estate investing and finance, including originating, structuring, underwriting and managing real estate and corporate private equity transactions valued at more than $6.3 billion. Previously, Mr. Valger was a partner with RCG Longview Debt Funds, where he was responsible for originating, structuring and underwriting a variety of real estate mezzanine and preferred equity transactions, investing more than $450 million in over 25,000 multifamily units. While there, he developed and led an exclusive Fannie Mae platform.

Prior to RCG Longview Debt Funds, Mr. Valger founded Genesys Holdings, a technology-based service provider and led the sales and marketing efforts of a multi-national packaged goods company called NutriPlus LLC. He is a former member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the UJA/Federation of New York and a former Board member of The Jewish Community Relations Council of New York. Mr. Valger received a B.A. from Binghamton University and earned an M.B.A in Real Estate & Entrepreneurial Management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Michael Sorochinsky – Principal

Mr. Sorochinsky joined the management team of DVO Real Estate as a Principal in 2018. He is also the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CEI, a strategic partner of DVO Real Estate, where he oversees the company’s $5 billion real estate portfolio. From 2001 through 2005, Mr. Sorochinsky focused in the value-add multifamily space, leading the purchase of over 70 properties comprising of 3,500 apartment units and retail. In 2010, before large numbers of developers jumped into the multifamily development space, Mr. Sorochinsky saw an opportunity to build Class A apartments in top markets around the US and led CEI to amass a development pipeline of nearly 5,000 luxury apartments with a projected value in excess of $2.8 billion. Prior to 2001, Mr. Sorochinsky practiced law at two international law firms – Perkins Coie and Milbank Tweed – representing creditors in distressed real estate debt and equity reorganizations. Mr. Sorochinsky received a B.A. from the University of California Irvine and his J.D. from the UCLA School of Law.

Ryan Shore – Director, Acquisitions

Mr. Shore is primarily responsible for DVO Real Estate’s acquisitions and dispositions. Mr. Shore has more than 12 years of experience in commercial real estate investing and finance, including originating senior debt and mezzanine loans, debt restructurings and equity investments. Throughout his career, Mr. Shore has originated and managed over $2.6 billion in total capitalization of real estate transactions. Previously, Mr. Shore was an associate with Bank of America where he managed a $500 million loan portfolio of retail, office and residential properties, restructured more than $1 billion in senior syndicated notes related to under-performing assets and originated over $140 million in new loans. Mr. Shore received a B.A. in Finance from Boston University’s School of Management and an M.S. in Real Estate Development from Columbia University.

Alla Sorochinsky – Managing Director

Ms. Sorochinsky heads asset management and development for DVO Real Estate as well as Cypress Equity Investments, ensuring that DVO functions at the highest level of efficiency, integrity and quality. Ms. Sorochinsky has worked with DVO’s value-add portfolio, adding significant value through heavy renovation, effective financing strategies and top-notch asset management. She   also   became   instrumental   in creating   an   asset management   platform    for    new    development   assets. Previously, Ms. Sorochinsky was the financial controller of several publicly traded technology   companies.   Ms.   Sorochinsky graduated   from   the   University    of    California,   Los    Angeles, with a degree in International Economics   and received   a Master’s degree from the University of Southern California.

Oleg Sabel – Special Counsel, Structuring, Closing

Mr. Sabel serves as DVO Real Estate’s outside legal counsel and oversees the legal structuring and closings of DVO Real Estate’s transactions. Throughout Mr. Sabel’s career, he has represented a wide range of clients, including leading private equity firms, hedge funds, mezzanine funds, REITS and lenders in national commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financings, joint ventures and development transactions. He has extensive experience in structuring complex joint venture agreements, managing tenant representation, and negotiating and conducting legal due diligence in real estate transactions. Mr. Sabel earned a B.S. from Cornell University and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.

David Chimon – Vice President, Finance and Accounting

David Chimon, CPA, CFE, is responsible for managing, strategizing, planning, and reporting DVO Real Estate’s financial and accounting activities. Mr. Chimon brings 10 years of accounting and tax experience with him from his previous role as a Senior Manager at Berdon LLP, Accountants and Advisors, where he expertly provided accounting, advisory, and tax services for his clients. In addition to providing GAAP and income tax basis auditing and financial reporting services, he advised on complex real estate transactions and partnership agreements. Mr. Chimon also consulted on complex tax issues, operations, and internal controls of businesses across various asset classes in the real estate industry.

Mr. Chimon holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business and an M.S. in Accounting from Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business. He is licensed as a CPA in New York State and a CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) from the Associate of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Will Emmons – Senior Vice President, Construction

As Senior Vice President of Construction for DVO Real Estate as well as Cypress Equity Investments, Will oversees projects on the East Coast, focusing on the greater NY metropolitan area. Prior to joining DVO, Will oversaw the predevelopment and construction of over 200,000 sf of luxury residential condos, 115,000 sf of mixed commercial and retail office space, and the rehabilitation of 400,000 sf of hotel and restaurant space in New York City.

Previous to his work in New York, Will worked at RPM Development and Construction, building high quality, LEED certified affordable housing in Newark, Orange and Franklin townships. Will received his BA from The College of New Jersey in English.

Victoria Marsala – Assistant Vice President, Administration & Investor Relations

Ms. Marsala’s responsibilities include assisting with DVO Real Estate’s administration, marketing and investor relations. Prior to joining DVO Real Estate, Ms. Marsala worked as a Coordinator at Universal Music Group, supporting the international marketing team. Ms. Marsala graduated cum laude from Muhlenberg College with a B.A. in Psychology, Media & Communications.
